On 22 May 2018 a meeting on Multi-disciplinary and Interagency approach for work with children victims of violence – opportunities and challenges was organised in Sofia, Bulgaria. PROMISE experts Ólöf Ásta Farestveit and Þorbjörg Sveinsdóttir from Barnahus Iceland presented the Barnahus model and PROMISE Barnahus Quality Standards. 80 representatives from respective ministries, municipalities, Ombudsperson, regional prosecutors and judges, as well as child protection institutions took part.
The main issues discussed were the challenges regarding the National anti-violence coordination mechanism, the integration of services in Bulgaria, and the recognition and promotion of the PROMISE Barnahus Quality Standards in existing services. It was announced that 20 currently operationg hearing rooms (blue rooms) will soon become 50 functioning hearing rooms.
The meeting was organised by The Social Activities and Practices Institute (SAPI) and the State Agency for Child Protection as part of the PROMISE 2 project.
