In October 2017, the CBSS Expert Group on Children at Risk held the first of two meetings during the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the Baltic Sea States. At the meeting, the representatives discussed national and regional developments as they relate to the mandate and priorities of the group.
The meeting featured a special programme on preventing violence against and among children and young people with various forms of conduct/behaviour challenges. The invited experts included Ph.D. Carolina Överlien, Associate professor at Stockholm University and Head of research at the Norwegian Center for Violence and Traumatic Stress Studies, who presented research methods and results regarding gender and the child right’s perspective in research on children and young people in vulnerable situations. Other presentations informed the group about the implementation and evaluation of MultifunC-program and also the Swedish Community Intervention Teams – two Swedish innovations addressing the prevention of violence against and among children and young people with various forms of conduct/behaviour challenges.
